Your files never leave your computer. This is not a website that processes your PDFs — you download the program and it runs locally, so your documents are never uploaded anywhere. You can disconnect from the internet entirely and it still works.

Getting started

  1. Download and unzip Right-click the file → Extract All. Keep all the folders together.
  2. Install Node.js, once If it asks for it, get the green LTS button at nodejs.org and click through the installer. One time only.
  3. Double-click start.bat On Mac or Linux run ./start.sh instead. Your browser opens automatically. Keep the small black window open while you work.

Before you download — the honest bits

Most PDF tools oversell what text editing can do. This one is deliberately straight with you:
  • Text is edited line by line. Paragraphs do not reflow, so a much longer replacement is shrunk to fit rather than wrapping onto a new line.
  • Scanned documents cannot be edited. A scan is a picture, not text. There is no OCR in this program.
  • Arabic and Indic scripts are not supported for adding or editing text. European languages including accents work fine.
  • Node.js is required — a free one-time install if you do not already have it.
